Default 2009 FX4 stuck in the snow...again...

So, I attempted to make a run to the store after about 4+ inches of snow fell here in Eastern Kentucky and wouldn't you know I got stuck on a simple incline on the way out. Better yet, once I got turned around I couldn't even make it back up the driveway. Yep, my 2009 FX4 is sitting in a wide spot about 80 yards from the house at this very moment. Had to take my wife's 2005 Trailblazer out instead. The only time the TB even spun a tire was after slowing down to get around my truck.

This isn't the first time this truck has laid down and died when conditions were slick or muddy. I have tried pressing the TC button on the dash once , I've held it for 5 seconds, got out and cussed it....I've disabled the the trailer sway control on the dash....heck, I've even pulled fuse 36 after putting it in four wheel drive with limited luck (even then the front wheels would cut out). All of the tricks that I've read about here and elsewhere haven't worked.

Is it just MY truck? Is it just a 2009 FX4? I farm and need to get off road from time to time all year. It'll climb a very steep incline when it's sunny and dry without ever missing a beat. Add any kind of moisture and I might as well have a two wheel drive truck....or just a Trailblazer.

I've never gotten mine stuck, we get feet of snow. rarely use 4x4 either. Are you spinning the wheels or trying to crawl? Wondering if your 4x4 even works tbh

We got 4" here in Cincinnati and I had no problems with my fx2 didn't even have to lock the rear end.

Just today I've tried to crawl as well as get a running go and the results are the same...I spin out and loose traction. I had it in 4high with the fuse pulled and the front AND rear wheels dug in at times. Other times I would get the infamous whining/clicking sound when my front hubs kicked out. I have a feeling there is something wrong that goes beyond all of the electronics.

Would it be a vacuum issue? Also, the electronics have gotten me in a jam or two be cutting power and wheel spin while in 4wd. Again, the thing works like a boss in dry weather.

Could be a vacuum issue. Cutting power is part of the traction control system, wheel spin is also normal depending on the road conditions and your right foot.

As soon as I can move the thing it's going to a dealership. I've actually called 3 of the largest dealerships in a 100 mile radius today and now one is working in the service departments of any of them! Snowmageddon is upon us here in the south!

Other than getting stuck when 4wd should be taking care of business, I love my truck! I would hope that it can be fixed otherwise I'll be on the lookout for a replacement. What other choice do I have?

I have a '14 4x4 STX, we got 8-10" here in WV (huntington area). I pulled into a gravel area today that had not been plowed and didn't have any issues. I spun, but I attribute that to my tires.

If the hubs are kicking out you probably have a vacuum leak
