I got my '10 FX4 with about 27Kmiles on it. Right of the stealership's lot it threw a CEL for bad cats, which the dealer replaced under warranty. Then the autodim mirrors stopped working (in the dark mode ofcourse ) which will get replaced next.

So I am rebuilding confidence that I didnt get a friday-afternoon build. Im kinda worried about the filled-for-life tranny although it runs great.

Im wondering how many miles you have (anyone hit 100K?) put on and what kind of issues have you had? Burning/leaking fluids? How is/was your warranty work with the Ford stealership?

If I bought a used truck (never have) and it threw a CEL right off the lot, I would take that thing back and get a different one. LOL.

I had a 2010 and not one issue in 13000 miles. My new 11 has been problem free for 1100 miles.... LMAO

I've got 8000 miles on mine. 18.3 mpg. No problems, no cels, runs great, no trans fluid leak, seats are comfortable, no paint issues. I guess I got a good one.

09 with 82,000 + do not like tranny and the way it shifts up and down. Sputters uphill under 3/4 acceleration. Driver side seat shakes. Other than that, no problems

09 5.4L 56k miles. had the evap canister purge valve replaced, transmission shifts hard, ive experienced the sputtering as Chaseit23 has. Transmission leaks around the pan, motor tap around 1.5k rmp. can be heard over radio (ford says normal) and because of the evap canister valve locking up, i now have to replace fuel sending unit because gauge doesnt work right, and if i get close to 1/4 tank of gas...breaking around a left hand turn will cause the truck to stall...and if i brake to hard, it will die if close to 1/4 of gas....but besides that great truck!

I know, I was back in threatening to dump the deal. The truck had an immaculate carfax though, still under full warranty and the dealer bribed me with a set of oem moulded mudflaps, and I really like the truck

Check engine light came on at about 2k miles. Took it back to dealer and they changed one O2 sensor and 4 injector's to get it right. Almost 15k on the truck now with no other problem's.

2011 fx4, 5 l engine 8000 km just had first service done. Problems so far
- burned 2 l of oil in 8000 km. This may or may not be a problem depending what it does now that it is broken in.
-sync is very erratic. Will take it in to get reflashed.
-steering kinda gets stuck when taking sweeping left turns at higher speeds. Will take it in to get fixed there is a tsb on this problem.
-a couple of days ago I heard a wierd sound when I started it for about 2 seconds. Sounded like a lifter had bled down. Have not heard it since, unsure if this is a problem at this point. Only time will tell.
Overall I really like the truck but am unsure of the overall quality. I previously had a jeep Liberty and never added a quart of oil during the152,000 km that I owned it, let alone 2 litres like I have with this truck. I remain confident that the fe a bugs will we fixed by warranty.
