Default 2009 f150 leaf springs?

Did all 2009 trucks come with 4 rear leaf springs. 3 long and 1 short. Looked at another truck like mine and had only 3 springs. Was this an option or standard stock. I have 4.

Max tow and/or trucks with 20" factory rims came with an extra leaf. I do belief max payload did too along with the bigger axle.

Thanks. My truck came with 20" but it had 18" on it when I got it. It's not max tow but tow package with controller, hitch, 7 pin etc. That's probably why it has 4 springs.

My 2009 is the same way. It came with 18" wheels, but has tow package, hitch, trailer plugs, trans cooler, etc, and it has 4 leafs.

My door sticker on tire info has 20". Someone put 18" on the truck. Why would 20" wheels come with 4 springs.

Because of the extra sprung weight of the wheels.

Would the drop from 20" to 18" cause any steering wander. My truck on the highway at any speed is smooth with no chattering in front end or steering wheel. Allignment seems perfect but it seems to wander very easily. Always have to correct steering to keep it straight in the lane your in. Seems odd.

the size of the wheel shouldn't do anything with it wandering around. The wander could be multiple things:

- off balanced wheels
- different tire pressures
- crown in the road
- brake pads could be rubbing the rotor on one wheel or several wheels

Steering is tight, tire pressure all the same. Brake hard and truck stays straight. 32000 miles on vehicle. Trailer sway is on. Should that be off when not towing or does it only work when trailer is hitched.
