2009 F-150 FX4 w/ Sync: Alpine Restyle and Stereo System Upgrade
After nearly 6 years with my stock Sync system in my '09 FX4, I was starting to have more and more issues with Sync dying and having to pull the fuse and battery to get it back.
So it was about time for an upgrade. I found out about the Restyle and was dead set on getting it, so I save up for a while to afford it. Once I had the money together, I specced out a full Alpine system with my local stereo shop. I ended up with the following:
Alpine Restyle FD-1
Alpine MRV-V500 Amp
Alpine SPS-517 Speakers (x4 doors)
Alpine SWT-10S2 Subs (x2)
Tailgate Camera
Sirius Module
Custom Box mounted under back seat
Video parking brake bypass module
and they threw in 4 HID lights (headlights/foglights) and installation. Total ended up nearly $4000, but holy **** is it awesome.
The Restyle comes with the iDatalink Maestro which ties into stock Sync, buttons, voice controls, and links to the OBD system to show engine data. Overall, it's a pretty amazing system, beautiful screen, and sounds amazing. Lots of customization options as well.
Let me know if you have any questions, I'd be glad to provide any information because I had a lot of trouble trying to find information from anyone that actually had or had used this unit before I purchased it.
Boot Screen
Sirius Radio
Watching a DVD, not while driving of course

Looks awesome! I pulled the trigger on one last week. Getting a couple JL 8s installed, components x4, sound deadener, remote start. $5k but I spend a lot of time in this thing. The alpine looks so badass in these trucks.

There is also a second camera hookup for a front camera as well, but I didn't opt for one.

Man... As soon as I seen the pictures I was ready to pull the trigger on buying one.. Until I seen the price lmao... I'll have to stick with my pioneer avic-x850bt for now.. Nothing compared to this. But it does have the backup camera plugin and all that which does the job for me.
None the less it Looks awesome man!

Yeah it was super expensive. But I was at the point where I needed to decide if I was keeping truck or getting my wife a new car. And since my truck is in such good shape with only 50k miles, I'm keeping it for the next 10+ years so I wanted it to have a nice stereo. And my wife got a new Jeep Wrangler so I got an upgrade too

Do you have anything else done to your truck? Any Mods? Aftermarket Wheels? etc?

Nice Alpine Hu....
I looked at the 9" Alpine, but couldn't justify the hefty price! I decided on a 2015 model Kenwood dnx-892 refurbed for 799.99 from Crutchfield.com. It's a 7" touchscreen, Nav., DVD player, Sirus/XM, Gauges via obd2 port, I also got the Maestro RR for keeping Sync and steering wheel controls. You can also control Pandora through the stereo, on your smartphone. The 892, also has 2 extra USB ports. 1 for large standard USB devices, and 1 for Apple devices. I ran 2 package USB adapters, from the rear of the radio to the inside of my xlt's center console. One for a 64gb thumb drive, and the other for my 64gb Ipod Touch!
I also bought and installed a Ford oem backup camera, from The Camera Source. I got 35.00 off the bus cam, with a forum code. It took me just under 3 hours to install everything myself, best decision I've made to buy this radio. Just wish I'd done it sooner... I grounded the parking brake wire to the chasis. Which allows for entering Nav, destinations while in motion, viewing the backup cam in any gear, and viewing a DVD while in motion. There's no need for any extra Module (just ground praking brake wireally from rado harness to Chasis)...
All, in all, I spent 1179.00 on the HU, Sirius/XM tuner, Backup cam, 2 USB adapter cables... Not to bad in my book.
Here's a few pics of it installed, for those that are curious...
