Default 20" Lariat wheels

I have finally decided on a Lariat after 'talking' myself out of a STX, XLT and then a FX4. Anyway, I want to go with the 20" wheels, but I feel like the chrome ones add more chrome than I would like (I was really pushing for the FX4, but the Boss wanted chrome, so we compromised ). So, finally to my question, I was wondering how hard are the machined aluminum ones to keep clean? Is the aluminum 'sealed' with anything? Thanks.

They'll be clear coated which is easy enough to keep clean but around salt they will defiantly wear quickly, clear will bubble and flake off

The 20 Lariat chrome wheels are actually chrome covers glued on the aluminum wheels.Very easy to keep just soap and water like the grilles.

FYI those 20's are heavy. They sap your gas milage. For instance My dad and I both have 4x4 Lariat's with the 5.4 and same rear ends. He has 18's with 285's and gets 18mpg highway. I have the 20's with 275's and I am lucky if I get 15mpg highway. The only difference is the tires/wheels and miles on the trucks. His has more miles.

As mentioned above, the 20" Lariat wheel is a chrome covered plastic cover bonded to an aluminum wheel. Easy to care for.
