17" wheels on a 2011 F150
My XLT came with 18" factory wheels. Can I downsize to a 17" x 10" aftermarket wheel with a 4.75" offset? I plan on installing a Rancho 4" lift kit and running 33" tires. I am getting a good deal on the wheels, but I am concerned with brake caliper clearance.

There are people running that size rim and backspace so yes on the rim, not sure on the tire size though....
Read into this thread if you have time lots of good info that would probably help you out..

I've wondered this as well. The Rancho kit's supposed to be for 18+ wheels. Was told by a 4x4 shop and Rancho's description as well. I've had a suspicion that 17s can work provided they have very minimal offset. I no little of suspension stuff, so...

Have a look at the Mojave package offered by Blackstock Ford in Ontario Canada, in particular the white 2010 shown in their customized truck portion of the site. I'm also going for this look and was told they use a 17x9 wheel with either a -6 or -12 off set with a 2 1/2" leveling kit. Their tires are 305 65 17 Mickey Thompsons ATZ's. Good luck

Go to the Rancho website and D/L the instructions on that lift. I am pretty sure the instructions state that 18 is the smallest rim you can run do to the increased knuckle size but i am not 100% sure. Yes the 17's with fit in relation to the caliper as some trucks come with 17's from the factory. But i believe the steering knuckle won't allow 17's with the lift. Most of the lifts say 18 or bigger and some even say 20" are required.

Yes, you can. Some XLTs like mine have 17" factory wheels (17x7.5"). The calipers are very close to the inside of the rim on the front rims, so I wouldn't go any smaller than 17".

Check with Rancho on their recomended wheel size for their lift. Usually a 9" wheel with 5 inches of backspacing 0 degree offset is the norm. The 04-08 truck's let you run stock wheels also with the Rancho lift. 17's are stock on the Raptor so you ought to be OK but it's always best to test fit a wheel and tire if possible. Don't forget about 34 inch tires like a 305x70, 285x75 or 295x70 which may look a little better then 33's.

Rancho just says it will work with 18 and 20 inch factory rims. Doesn't say what minimum size rim to run. The question isn't about calipers clearance, but the steering knuckle. I bet a -12mm 17" would work.

I'm probably going to use a 18'" wheel incase i lift my truck at a later date, it will more than likely be a 4"
Only thing i was wondering is the -6 offset, are my wheels going to be on the outside of the truck or will it even work with stock suspension.
