17" rim, Tallest, biggest, largest tire on a stock XLT?

Alright, kind of feel like I'm talking to myself, but it helps make up My mind.
I'm settled on the Firestone.
Now I am leaning towards a P rather than an LT.
Only problem is, the LT has 50% more tread depth. For about 200$ more for the set. Logic would bring me to believe that the tires would last 50% longer, but I am not sure it is worth it.
Tire shop said they would install my level for 50 bucks, I think I might let them do that.

What kind of MPG are you getting with that setup? I currently have 255/65/17 and want something bigger, but wasn't sure how much of an effect it would have to go that big.

... stock tires are 245 70 R17. Will a 265 70 R17 fit?
