'14 vs. '15
My '14 FX4 went in for some warranty work today, and the dealer hooked me up with a '15 xlt as a loaner. I must say, after driving it, I like my '14 much better. The mirrors are weird on the '15, the headlight switch is at a funny angle, and overall the interior design isn't as good, imo. I realize I'm comparing a fx4 to an xlt, but the design would be the same in all trim levels.
The drive of the '15 is nice, but it isn't much different than my truck.
I'm definitely glad that I got a '14.

I like my 14 very much but like you said, you're comparing 2 different trim levels and maybe if you weren't used to the 14's layout, you might like the 15? IDK i don't like the ripped off tondra looking grille and the ripped off looking dodge tail gate, but it's a new design and initially i generally don't like the new designs so i'm trying to be aware of that.

I didn't drive a 15, but had an FX4 pulled up next to the 14 FX4 I eventually bought. I didn't like the front end, the rear end nor the interior. my salesman said there was quite a few people that he spoke to about bing a new truck that were shy v away from the 15's because of the same reasons I did. I'm loving mine and only wish I would have searched for a truck with the 6.2 and 3.73's. But then again. The 5.0 does it just fine.

The 2015s are super nice, but the consensus among all of my buddies and family (all together, eight '11-'14 trucks) overwhelmingly prefers the circa-2014 truck. Personally, I think the '09-'14 era of F150s is gonna be extremely difficult to beat. Again, I really like the styling of the 2015s; however, I worry that Ford erred on the side of making this flagship too conservatively indistinguishable from the F250/Tundra/Silverado/Ram lineups... Time will tell. The 2017 Raptor looks promising.

I completely agree with the OP. Went for a ride in a 15 XLT and didn't care for the interior as much as my 14 XLT. Granted I'd likely get used to it, but the 14 interior just seems more user friendly IMHO.

I test drove a 2015 Lariat over the weekend with all the bells and whistles. My current truck is a 2012 FX4 that's loaded out. I thought the 2015 drove MUCH better, and personally I love the interior layout. All the technology was a bit overwhelming, but nothing that you wouldn't get used to. I think once the 2015 grows on people, it will be just as popular as the previous model year.

My dealer took 26 days to replace my 5.0 engine and I drove a 15 xlt for that period. I put over 1000km on it. It took a bit to get used to the window and door lock button positions, the doors never shut properly on the first try. It drove more like a car, even the gas and brake pedals were smaller. Didn't have as much body roll which I liked but I was very happy to get mine back. Wouldn't trade mine for a 15.

I test drive multiple '15s from Lariats to XLTs and multiple '14 FX4s. I liked the interior on the '15s better, and the '15s rode much better to me. I actually ordered a '15, but 3 weeks later cancelled and bought a loaded '14 FX4. In a way, I feel like I settled, BUT I bought this truck with more options than the '15 I had ordered for $7000 less than I would have paid for the '15. I had nothing but GM trucks previously so I'm not biased to either year model. Hopefully I made the right choice, I would like to be driving this truck for the next 5-7 years.
