Default 14.03 @ 98.68 - headin' for 13's!!!!!!!!!!

Here is my best time going into a headwind today. Never did get real good traction. Only a CAI and 5-Star tune; otherwise, completely stock ... including exhaust ... not bad I'd say for a 4x4.

60' - 2.118
1/8 - 9.05 @ 78.54
1/4 - 14.030 @ 98.68 mph

Next time out will be without the spare and tailgate. Hopefully, the track will be prep'd better with no steady 20-30 mph wind coming at me. I'll be looking for mid 13's, which is 13.750-13.251. 13.7's sounds good in a 4x4.

Thanks a lot Fx4 5.0Man. Appreciate it kindly. I couldn't seem to hook up quite well enough on the street tires. Think I'm gonna' order some traction bars or ladder bars before I go back out.

Geez, how you gettin' this down the track?

Got an ole' 442 that will hit 60 in 5.2 and the 1/4 in 13.4 just because I have NO traction. I go more than 1/2 way to the floor out of the hole I just sit there broiling the tires. That's with an Olds BB with estimated 400+HP and 500+lb.ft.. Never dyno'd - just by the way it's built. But, I don't want to change the stock look so it is what it is.

Still fun though . . .

Nah, that's Boss5.0. He ran a best of 13.09 in a 4x2 RCSB identical to my 4x4.

That's a good question. I've Mustang's out-dyno the LS1/LS6 Firebirds and Camaro's by 50-75 RWHP/RWTQ and get beat by them consistently over the years.

I did get a pretty good 2.141.60' with the tires at 35 psi on my first run. Dropped the psi down to 22 psi and it took me 6 runs to finally beat that time. My 7th and final run was a 2.118 60' time.

I think my street tires cup in the middle when dropped that low. Hell, I used to run MT drag radials at 14 psi on my race car. Yank P/T 4400 stall converter with 440 RWHP/427 RWTQ.

5.0L motor. I do have a CAI and 5-Star tune. Keeping her like that until next time out at the track when I'll drop the tailgate and spare tire/wheel ... go out when there's no headwind and see how far in the 13's I can get.

Plans for this summer include traction bars, replacement of my 100% factory exhaust with 1 7/8" ARH LT headers and single catback, and some cheap lighter wheels with drag radials for the track. That should put me in the 12's.

You'll never see a 14.0 video from me 'cause next time I'm removing the tailgate and spare wheel/tire. You WILL see my video of at least 13.8's, though.
