Turn it off, see if you can shift it through the positions without it running, remove e brake in neutral (careful) put back in park and then start it up and try it.

Nothing...would a fuse really cause it not to click into gear? I had this problem once on my 06...but I just pushed the shifter forward and it worked. My shifter is on the center console and I can't get the button to push in far enough to click out of park...frustrating

It has an electric brake interlock. If the brake lights arn,t working it won't come out of park. Check the brakes. If they are working, there is a procedure in the manual for bypassing the interlock which involves removing the shift leaver boot.

Haha no I would be one pissed off SOB if I was at the ramp. No luckily I am stuck in the middle of my driveway. I was hooking up the boat to go out though.

I checked and I have no brake lights. I checked all associated fuses and they are all good. I will be calling ford in the morning to have them come fix it. Just rolled over to 5k and this happens...

I may be dreaming this, but I swear I saw something about this in the owners manual. I think it mentioned a fuse. Might check the owners manual if you're still on the boat ramp. I will see if I can find it or if I just dreamed it.

Sounds like a blown fuse. If you plugged in your trailer, it might have a wiring short that blew a fuse. Not sure why ford decided that we aren't allowed to shift out of park if the brake lights arn't working.. Makes it kinda difficult to drive to the late night emergency fuse store.
