Default '13 Lariat for a '13 King Ranch

When I bought my truck in December, I was looking for a King Ranch. My local dealer couldn't find one on another dealer's lot, and I didn't want to wait 6-8 weeks for an order so I bought a Lariat that is equally equipped (other than the seats of course).

Now, my local to dealer has a blue jean King Ranch on their lot. This may be a bad move, but I'm considering trading my Lariat for the King Ranch.

Good or bad idea?? Thanks for the input!

I think you'll get hit hard with depreciation.

I think you're right. KBB has it valued around $40,000 for excellent condition.

I know. They're more likely to give me the low end of the value. That's around $37,000.

If KBB says 40k you would be lucky to see 35. Most trades are priced closer to aution prices...

I am in your boat. I have a 2013 KR and wanted to consider a trade in on a SD. The best the dealer was going to offer on my KR was $40k. The best deal I could get on the SD was $46k. I wasn't willing to dump $6k on a trade since I bought mine in December also. Its just not worth it. Losing 6-7k in six months. Your probably going to be in the same boat, depending on how loaded the KR is your going to be looking at the same kind of figures.

The only reason I am considering it is because I owe $29,000 on my truck. It seems like it would be too much of a loss to go through with the deal.

Why don't you just ask your dealer? You might be surprised. I sold a 6 months old XLT with EB last year and got a very good price for it.

Cheers

I began entertaining the idea a few days ago. I've been at work the past 2 nights so I haven't had a chance to make it to my dealer. I'm going to go today.
