I have always thought that the IOLM (intelligent oil life monitor) on our trucks was a 10000 mile / 6 month counter. Once I saw that this oil change would be 99% highway miles and less than 6 months I started keeping track of the IOLM and mileage. Here's the data:

So even though I didn't catch the IOLM right when it reduced each time,it's easy to see that for every 100 miles, the counter reduces by 1%.
