Well I have a 2013 FX4 and have stopped at two different dealers and have been told the truck had to be one built with Canada specs or it can't be done. And since mine was built for Texas they say it can't be done as only the trucks built for up north that may be sent to canada will have the needed relay to work!!! I hate this !!!

^^^This^^^. I just had mine done yesterday and it's a Texas truck. The Quick Lane did it and it only took them a couple of minutes and there was no charge. (I tried to give the guy a few bucks to buy his lunch but he refused).

So was it the blinkers that became drls or the headlights themselves?

On my 2011 XLT the headlights only come on. They come on at about half the normal brightness. Plus the interior display lights like the radio aren't dimmed.

Lol, did they say what caused the interior lights to do that? Or did they have no idea?

The interior lights flash when less than two key remotes have been paired with the BCM.

The proper sequence to program a BCM is to first download the current BCM settings (including the key fob pairing data) into the programmer, update the settings, then upload the updated data into the BCM. This method retains any existing settings, like key fob pairings.

If the first step is skipped, the programmer starts with factory default settings. Uploading new data will then clear out the key fob pairings (along with any other previous custom settings.) This will cause the interior lights to flash until at least two key fobs are paired.

So if you're getting this done, make sure the technician noes to read in the current settings first. And always take all of your keys/fobs with you so they can be reprogrammed in case there is an issue.

Got mine activated today on a Gulf Spec (Middle East) 2013 HID. They charged me about $55. Robbers. But at least they did it.
