Default Is 13.5 MPG normal???

Just bought a 14' Screw 4x4 3:73 gears. Easy acceleration from stops. 89 octane. On the Hwy with cruise set at 60 I'm getting 13-14!! Is that normal for a new truck with 1000 miles on it? I'm a bit concerned on the Hwy miles being so low. Love the truck though!!!

This is normal on my 02 5.4, seeing this with the newer trucks does not give me a lot of confidence that getting a new one is worth the expense. I've also look through a TON on MPG posts on all the forums and that seems to be more normal than it should be.
I really want to buy a new truck but I want it to get 18+mpg city and 21+ hwy, otherwise it's really just not worth the 40k I'd be spending. The only way I won't feel that way is if I get a Raptor which right now is looking pretty good!

Winter blend gas is to blame for the lower MPGs. Don't worry, it'll get better. During the summer I'll get 19-20 and in the winter it drops. I've been hauling a trailer around lately, so I can't really give any true numbers.

I'm getting from 17 to 19 mpg hwy running the posted speed limits. What you're getting sounds about 2 to 3 mpg low to me.

I have a 2011 3.5 Screw, and I get over 19 mpg in those conditions.

Tires properly inflated? In 6th gear? Tailgate open (which is bad)?
