120V outlet loose

The 120V outlet in my fx4 is worn out. The light comes on but when you plug something into it the plug falls out. Is there any way to tighten this up without having to change the receptacle completely?

No, not really. You'd have to disassemble the receptacle to be able to squeeze the blades inside it closer together. Occasionally, you can squeeze the prongs of what you're plugging in either closer together, or move them a little further apart and it will help it grip a little bit better.

Surely the assembly can't be that expensive....but this "is* Ford...so who knows. Maybe you can find one at a salvage yard??

That's what I was afraid of. I'm going to use it for a laptop adapter that will stay in the truck all the time so I might just take it apart and hard wire either the adapter to the truck or a separate receptacle hidden under the console.

Man I'm glad I was browsing the forums today. My outlet is the same way and I would love to fix it. Guess I'm ordering a plug.
