Default # 101 off road pkg.?

Just one more question in a laundry list of many. Since I've changed my mind on builds about 101 times, now I need to know about the off road pkg. on non FX4's like the Lariet that I have finally settled on. With off road pkg. is the ride night and day or just slightly stiffer, and not worth getting if not off roading at all? I did have another question , but that will be later on the rear axle (3.73)
thanks

LOLS, this is why people buy dodge and GM trucks. Ford just has too many options! Dodge and GM just say if you want x you HAVE to buy truck A which can not come with option Y. Lols, so much decision making needed when the options are almost limitless!

The off road package includes skid plates, 3.55 axle ratio, e-lock rear diff, hill descent control, and off road tuned shocks (and the ever important stickers)
I would suspect you won't feel any difference on road

My opinion is that you should get the off road package because after you have the truck for a little while and hang around this forum you'll do a lift or level and put on bigger tires. You're ride will get a little stiffer then anyway

Enjoy

Unless you plan on a lot of heavy towing, then the max tow package might better suit you.

I had a 2011 2wd XLT scab then moved up to 2012 4x4 offroad package XLT screw. Ride quality didn't change, both were/are great. I have hit a few thing when offroad so the skid plates have served purpose. As far as a long drive I did a 1200 mile trip a month ago and was a very comfortable ride even with load range E tires. I know this is kind of scattered info it is just some things I have realized about the truck. Best of luck with your decision.

I would assume the max tow package overrides some of the off road features like the offroa suspension and the gear ratio. The max tow is a bit stiffer ride, but not so much that you would notice if you didn't know any better. I feel your pain, I actuuay switched the sale of the truck I ordered to one that I saw on the back lot (not inventoried yet) because I liked it so much more.

FYI the tow mirrors look and work great but you are pretty much relegate to the back lot at the mall as they make the truck very wide, unless you don't mind folding them in all the time of course.

Appreciate the replys , I believe the answer is rie comfort is essentially the same. Differences being protection under carriage, different shocks & tires basically. Think I'm ready. (tonight anyway)

Thanks again.
