100 mph
I have had my 11 Screw Lariat w/EcoBoost for about a month now, 2500 miles. I have been rather light on the gas for the most part but have had a little fun with it also (when the wife is not onboard!). A few questions...when can I consider the engine "broken in"? For the first time the other day I wanted to really open it up and see how it acts, but when I hit 100 mph it was as though I had taken my foot off the gas pedal...did Ford put a governor on the EcoBoost? If so, can it be programmed to not have this function? No I am not Mario nor do I regularly drive that fast, but if Ford has elected to restrict these engines I am just curious their reasoning why? Has anyone else experienced this? If not I guess I need to bring it in to see what's wrong with it. Thanks for any insight!

If you need to go above 100 you probably shouldn't have bought a truck.

a programmer will take care of that buddy, it will allow you to over ride that 100MPH shut down.

2010 5.4L governs at 96, but a programmer/tuner can remove the limit.
