Default 1/4 Mile Help Thread - 2013 EcoBoost

So next week I'm going to run my 2013 FX4 SuperCrew EcoBoost (3:55's and 5.5' bed) at the track... Bone stock with only 1,500 miles. It's a December build, so it has the larger 51mm turbos. I want to get a baseline before I tune it, and just have some fun.

Any suggestions on what I should do?

1) 2WD or 4WD?
2) Traction Control on or off?
3) Rear E-Locker engaged or disengaged?
4) What should I stall it to at the line?
5) Between runs, what should I do for a cool down period?
6) Any other suggestions?

The only reason I asked about 2WD is because I'm not sure if the stock tuning has enough power to really spin the tires... And I know that 4WD can cause a little bit of drivetrain loss, resulting in lower trap speeds and slightly slower times.

1) 2wd-pavement; 4wd-dirt
2) Off
3) ELD - ON
4) Whatever the brakes will let you do
5) Depends on ambient temps. >80º: wait 5 minutes. <80º: run it hot as possible
6) Have a blast? (just don't go too fast, as they start making you do all sorts of safety stuff to your vehicle if you break certain times - no fun ($$$)
- throw a few 60lb sacks of sand in the bed at the very back next to the tail gate. Air down your rear tires.

As an aside, you mention a 12/12 build having 51mm turbos. Do you know any of the other "cut-off" dates for stuff like that? I have a 2/13 build date, but would like to know anyway.

Thanks! And DO have fun!

Thanks for the help. Temperature should be in the 50-60's and it's a 1/4 mile drag track.

Cut off date is October 2012 for the 2013 trucks. With later dates come the upgraded turbos, electronic BOV, and updated CAC.

If Im not mistaken, the electronic locking diff will automatically turn off after reaching a certain speed. 15mph , 25mph or something of that sort.

Most of the time you brake boost launch in 4H, letting go around 2200 to 2400 rpms, should net you sub 2 second 60 foot times. TC off. Just make sure to turn 4H off before end of track before you turn off.

1) 2WD or 4WD? 4WD HI
2) Traction Control on or off? Traction control off hold button 10sec
3) Rear E-Locker engaged or disengaged? disengage
4) What should I stall it to at the line? 2300 or so
5) Between runs, what should I do for a cool down period? pop hood at least 30 min
6) Any other suggestions? Have fun, stage to barely turn on the 2nd bulb gives you a couple inches of roll out.

From everything iv read, all the '13's have the upgraded intercooler and bigger turbos. Do you have any sources to say other wise? I have a '13 myself and would like to double check to see what I have.

I assure you if you brake boost this truck high enough you'll burn those tires off in 2wd. My best times screwing around with the Livewire have always come in 4wd, but I haven't done much practicing with 2wd launching either. That's a skill you hone with practice, practice, practice and probably a few sets of tires, lol.

I wouldn't call the '13 CAC an upgrade, it's more densely packed core.
