I didn't read all the posts so forgive me if I am repeating someone. When I was shopping around for a 2010 I had asked the dealer if I bought one without the camera, how much it would cost to get one installed like the factory. He checked into it and told me between 500-600$. this was with the screen in the mirror. If you have sync and the mic is in the mirror it may cost more. Or you could get the mic relocated.

these things are a PITA. makes taking off the gate a real hassle, you risk a rock smashing in when your gate is down on a gravel road and i noticed that it filled with water today when i gave it a wash, had to blow it out with an air hose cuz being from ontario you know things freeze this time of year

Any idea how to check if the camera is sending a signal. Also before you ran the two wires from the camera to the mirror, did your compass work?

If your compass just shows a line where the direction is suppose to be. You need to drive your truck in a circle for at least 360 degrees.

I had the same problem with the camera. I replace main harness, headliner harness, and tail light hareness only to find I did not have the wires running from the rear of the cab from headliner harness to the kick panel. Search posts that I have done in this thread and it will tell you how I fixed it. Page 47 to page 49

Thanks for the info. I just checked and I have all the correct wiring, the brown and brown/yellow wires continue from the front of the cab to the back of the cab.

Since the mirror is displaying the blue screen I'm assuming that if is function properly but not getting a signal. How can I check if the camera is working and sending a signal?

I would use a multi meter. First make sure you have 12 volts goining to camera (key on position)and then make sure it has a ground. I then measure the resistance in the other two wires to the camera ( brown brown/yellow) If all checks out at the tail light haraness, I would then make sure you have the same resistance in these two wires aat the mirror. If not just trace back to see where the problem lies. Remember there are four wires going to camera ..... 12 volt , ground , and video positve, video negative. I dont know what the resistance on the video wires are...

Smile Rearview Hot-wiring?

I have the factory installed Rearview in the tailgate with the TV display showing in the rearview mirror. It is activated when I put the truck into Reverse.

Is there a DIY way to activate the camera without putting the truck into reverse? a way to turn it on with an added switch?

Thanks, MN.

the bk/green and gray are the only two that are not wrapped in the shield.
Now this is the male end that snaps into the female end that you have a picture of. but the same color wires are at the end that snaps into the camera. I hope the #'s are the same but just the wrong color.
I too have the same camera. Have you figured out the wiring yet?
