Default '09 Limited slip vs Advancetrac/RSC

Hello to all on the forum. This is my first post but I've been enjoying all the good info on this site. Thanks.

I'm nearing the pickup date for my new '09 F-150 XLT 4.6 4X 6spA 3.53 diff and will be retiring my '92 Flairside 4X (140k) in the swap. That makes this my 4th F-150; 78, 84, 92 and now 09.

Does anyone have first hand experience with the A-trac system in operation on the road or off? I asked the salesman about an L/S diff but I couldn't find it in the 4.6L config, only w/5.4L. He said the A-trac will do the job of the L/S diff. Was he pulling a work on me? I think so cause doesn't the A-track sys need body roll to kick in? I don't know that I'll miss an L/S diff in the truck but have enjoyed the performance of an L/S diff in our 97 Explorer ( V6 SOC w 224k and going strong).

Thanks

Ok, I will be the kind "anyone."

Google "how does advancetrac work?" and you will get tons of answers.

Thanks johnwill. If you do the same, your post is now #3 on the google search using that phrase!

From what I read from the links, it A-trac should do something similar though not the same as a L/S diff. I guess it depends on how quickly it responds. I've done without it on any of my other trucks but it sure is nice on the Explorer.

LOL, I hear you.

But do it without the quotes and you will get tons of great answers though. Good luck.
