Default 04-08 lower control arms on 09-14

So my question is, has anyone replaced their steel lower control arms for aluminum ones from previous years on their 09+ f150? Do they fit? Any advantages? Sorry if this discussion has maybe already happened..... Couldn't find any.

I don't know of anyone going the way you're asking, but folks have apparently done Raptor suspension swaps onto '04-'08 trucks, so it may be possible to go the other way. The brake rotors are different ('04-'08 have the wheel bearings integrated into the rotor; '09-'14 have separate rotors and bearings), so the knuckle will be different, but I don't know if its mounting points are different.

ETA: look in the '04-'08 section for discussions about the Raptor swaps.

09-12 possibly 13 had two bolts holding the shock to the LCA. 14 for sure changed it to a single bolt thru a tube. I’m not sure about 04-08 trucks

Looking at Stage 3. They have the front struts listed as 09-13, and then 14. The 09-13's have 1 bolt through the bottom like my 08, and the 14's have the 2 bolts like the newer trucks do.

Stage 3 front struts
