We actually do have some tricks for exceptionally low shipping on some items but this valance can't be shipped under this program.

Take the rear fender liners for example, at published rates you're looking at well over $100 to ship those in the lower 48 but we regularly ship them for $20.00.

We do our best to have the lowest parts prices and the best shipping rates but we can't underquote shipping cost if we're going to lose money on it or risk damage to the part due to inadequate packing.

Just wanted to update for those curious, here's the box it came in beat to hell and back naturally, I sort of expected it.

Dimensions were (if still a square box) LOL, 5.25" x 22" x 77"

But when I opened what was left of the box I saw something I also expected, the atomic plastic bag Ford ships most parts in (need a knife to cut it)

So I cut it open and find something I wasn't expecting at all, Ford double bagged it.

Nice surprise with 2nd bag and almost as heavy duty as the outer bag, so I slide it out and finally set eyes on the part and got exactly what I expected to see, a brand new oem part in pristine condition.

With all that said total for shipping was $33.

Perhaps you might consider charging a normal amount with an option for insurance if someone is worried about damage. Had I been given that option I would have purchased it from your company and not someone else. Wouldn't have paid the extra because I knew how Ford packages oem parts but just saying.

Can you please do me a favor and provide me with the dimensions of the box they shipped that in? The pre-crushed dimensions that is. Came UPS did it?

Just went and re-measured and I over stated in original post the thickness by 1/4" and the length by 1".

5" x 22" x 76"

Yes UPS ground.

Thanks, I actually missed that in between the pictures.

At those dimensions I could have shipped it for $30.00, as you noted the box was beat to death but quite luckily the part wasn't damaged.

Change those dimensions to 6" x 22" x 76" and the shipping cost jumps to $96.00.

We ship somewhere between 400-600 packages a day out of our Rhode Island warehouse and while I'd love to be able to have our guys spend the time to try to squeeze every last bit of savings on shipping it's simply not feasible.

I'm glad it all worked out for you and I hope you understand where I'm coming from.
