I have a 2010 FX4 with the Sony system w/ sub. Can I replace the factory sub with the kicker sub only? Have read mixed reviews that this will and will not work.
If it will work do I have to rewire the sub and will it fit in the factory mounting holes that the Sony sub is mounted

According to Ford it will not work if you have the base or Sony system.

It is really frustrating that the newer trucks don't have a sub like the older ones.
Ford has teamed up with Kicker to bring you a complete plug and play pre-amplified sound upgrade system.
Starting with a custom enclosure, 10" woofer and a 200 watt amplifier the Sub Woofer Upgrade adds all the low end your missing without having to deal with large intrusive boxes taking up valuable space as it locates itself under the rear seat.

So any of you guys with this Kicker subwoofer upgrade try the polyfill mod on the kicker sub? Have seen a bunch of good reviews on the stock sony sub with the polyfill mod and wondered if it would also work for the kicker.
