Wheel Hop in Deep Sand 2017 150 F4 Lariat
This weekend at the beach the sand was cut up and deep , Several times when
to much power applied I would get slight wheel hop in the back.
I have stock shocks with trailer tow pgk ( not sure that matters. ) and offroad
everything, ( im sure that doesnt matter ) .
In 2wd drive its noticable right off the bat then your stuck. even in locked mode.
This was my first time to take this truck in the nasty deep sand, it was slightly wet so no total power, it worked well when you figure out that tow mode is better to keep you transmission from shifting so much. No issues getting through it all , very pleased.
I would be interested in curing the slight wheel hop issue.

The OEM shocks, especially the non-FX4 package shocks, are garbage. That would be your first issue.
But, these trucks also have long leaf springs, and blocks. Neither are a great combination for eliminating wheel hop. The drive line loads up under throttle, then when the traction goes away suddenly it'll snap back.

A set of Deaver rear leaf springs will solve your issues. They did mine.

You didnt mention if you aired down your tire pressure. Around here we get plenty of tools who head out on the beach with their big bad trucks with tires at 35psi. They leave behind ruts, washboards, and buried trucks.
The only time I get wheel hop is if I'm not aired down. 15-20psi minimum for the beach. Deeper the sand, lower the PSI.

Totally agree; a normally aired tire will cut into the sand and leave you stuck. GOT to air down...I have one small correction to make to Sweetlou's post; and that is: SOFTER the sand, lower the PSI.
These should help:
and
Enjoy!
