Default What not to do when you go on the beach

It's not a Ford but something you should probably not do:

Land Rover taking a bath

Decades ago I was out in my boat and saw a vehicle stuck on the beach. Tide was coming in fast. Called the FD on my CB (no cell phones then) and stayed to guide them in. They arrived, but could not drive on the sand. They called a wrecker, who would not drive on the sand, and his cable would not reach. Tide came in...

Next day saw vehicle at tow yard, totaled. As soon as the salt water hits that engine and exhaust, it's toast.

Yeah, supposedly the dude drove it off even though the "engine was making strange noises" and the lights were flashing. Wonder if he took it to the dealership demanding a new car because this wasn't waterproof.

I watched the same thing happen at Pismo about 30 years ago. I think it was a Blazer. What an idiot!

That's why they don't call them "water rovers"
