Trying to figure out how much of a lift/ leveling kit I need
I have a 2014 f150 and recently got 315/70R17 BF Goodrich all terrain tires. Trying to figure out if a leveling kit will work or if a full suspension kit will be needed

I will tell you though, any lift out there requires at minimum 18" wheel to clear the new steering knuckle included with the lift.

Need more info on what you drive before an accurate answer can be given, 2 or 4wd, year would also help.

I had a 2.5" level in my 11 with 315/ 70 17's with absolutely no rubbing.

2" level MAX will be sufficient but I highly recommend against it for reasons of suspension and drivetrain component stress and premature wear. A true lift kit is what would keep your trucks chassis at optimal angles. Caveat to that is no one makes a lift kit that will accept a 17" wheel as mentioned already, min 18".
So do you cause premature wear to your trucks chassis components or do you opt for a larger wheel? That is a decision no one can make but you. Good luck.

Alternatively you can get new aftermarket shocks, keep the preload down (aka don’t do a true level) and you shave the inner fender and some sheet metal in your fenders. Your model has no crash bars so they don’t get in the way. The front bumper may need some work if you don’t go aftermarket.
If I didn’t have to worry about parking garages I would have done a 6” lift but since I needed to still fit in 6ft 8” garages I skipped the lift.
If you truly go off-road the quality of the shocks matter more than the amount of the lift. Also most guys quote you no rub when the trucks sitting in the parking lot. That’s much different than no rub when the suspension is is fully loaded and the tires are sucked up into the wheel wells.
Good luck. Truck will look nice with 315’s.
