Default Toyo Open Country MT, Noisy??

Anyone running Toyo Open Country and find the tire to be noisy? A guy I met recently with Toyo MT said his were pretty quiet, which shocked the hell out of me. I find it hard to believe a MT can be quiet. Anyone out there experience this?

They are quieter than the Goodyear MTR. That much I know.

The best way I can describe it is they're not as noisy as you would think when looking at the tread. Yes they sing a bit at highway speed but not bad. I have a set in 285-75/18.

The term "Quiet" is very subjective. I had them on a '06 Ranger. They start out pretty quiet, but after about 5-7,000 miles they start really letting you know they're there pretty well. I was shocked how noisy they got (perfect alignment, new shocks). I changed them out at about 2/3 tread. If you're going to do much on road driving, even though the MTs are great tires for traction, and they look really cool, another choice might be best. You decide. I now run the Toyo AT2s. Other than sticky gooey mud, they perform just about as well. And, they look really good as well.

HTH!

between Toyo M/T, BFG KM2's and Nitto trail grappler's... they were the least noisy M/T

Agree with last guy. Ran toyo open country and didn't think they were loud. Unless they get uneven wear. Now running nitto m/ t and they are likely a little louder. But still not bad. IMO . I think they look good as well. The toyo are chick magnets

I've been looking at the ATii, is it quiet? I have nitto mud grapplers and do 90 percent highway driving, but I live on a ranch. The noise my MTs are making now is getting annoying. I'm looking for quiet. Plus I need to go up some sizes because of my 6" lift. Still rolling on "33s". Actually 32 mounted.

Don't look at an MT and want it to be not audible. The Toyo's aren't that noisy but you hear them. I now have Mickey Thompson MT's which I don't think are too loud (subjective) but they are noisier than the Toyo's.

If you're worried about noise...get an A/T. My 35" Toyo M/T's sing an elegant melody as I cruise the highways.
