Default Tires and rims

I am new to the site and new to trying to mod the truck. Always been a man with a Bowtie, but have seen the light.

I have a 2010 XLT 4X4 Super Crew. I have 265/70/17 (17x7.5) stock rims. I am looking at a 4" lift kit and want to put 35X12.50/17 on the truck. Can anyone tell me if the new tires will fit the stock rims or do I need to get new rims?

I was told by a buddy that I should look at 35X12.50X18. Any thoughts on this as well? Also can anyone tell me if 315/70/17 is comparable to to my wants above?

Thanks
