I don't do electric shift 4x4, 80's fords turned me off to that. not sure on transmission. since I'm 2wd, a divorced case would be easier that swapping out the tailshaft. the super duty t-case could work. i have driven a 5.4 stick shift dually... a stick shift/manual t-case combo would be awesome.... on my 5.0

fyi, my 08 f150 had a manual shift t-case. BUT, i think it used a splined shaft at the t-case end and a u-joint at the axle end. if so, that particular T-case would probably not like the constant angle change of a moving differential.

or i can just sell my first-born and buy an Atlas

i forgot about the chevy 44 stuff. at least the 6 to 6 adapters would give me some width back. guess i need to break out the tape measure, because my '79 dana 44 already looks narrower than these new trucks.

for brakes, i was concerned that a different sized caliper and/or rotor would confuse the computer, since it would have different stopping "power". I'm a Master Plumber, electrical stuff stumps me, haha.

Well...I do know you AA makes a 6R80 to Atlas adapter...just saying

Although with a 145" wheelbase, you should be able to fit whatever you want. Maybe a dirt cheap doubler? Divorced Passenger drop 205 in front of a divorced driver drop 205? And I think there's a 3:1 kit available, so you could have a 4 speed tcase and 6 speed transmission? haha ok, daydreaming is over...back to reality

I believe 70s F150s were 65" at the WMS front and rear. I don't know what the 9.75s are, but I'm pretty sure it's wider than that. Even JKs run 65" axles. I don't think the different size calipers/rotors would make any difference, there are big brake upgrade kits for lots of modern ABS vehicles (including our F-150s). But I'm not sure what sensors the ABS uses to detect wheel spin, lockup, etc. tone rings, maybe? For a while, that was a big issue with JK axle swaps, and a big reason the bolt in aftermarket ones got so popular.
