Should I be worried about bump stops
 

So I lifted my truck with a 4" BDS lift kit. It has a 2" rear block in the back and an add a leaf for about 2.25" of lift. I think I am going to up it the raptor style rear blocks (2.75" tapered to 2.625")) so I get about .75" of rake back when I tow.

Here is my dilema. I can get a set of raptor style rear blocks without bump stop ears for free from my installer. Or I can get the factory raptor rear blocks for $180 and they have bump stop ears.

I will be off roading it one or two weekends a month. If I wasn't, I wouldn't worry about the bump stops. But, is this concern just in my head? Is there a better option to spend the $160 on? Anyone have any good idea on how to lengthen the bump stops besides just washers and longer bolt (I don't think that would hold up very well but maybe it will)? My tires will clear the fenders just fine if the rear axle is articulated but would rub if I compressed both sides of the truck at the same time via a jump (I don't plan on jumping my truck).

I had the same problem / concern and solved it with a purchase of Timbren SES rubber springs to serve as my new bump stops. At full compression, the factory yellow bump stops were not long enough to reach the tab on my lift blocks to prevent further compression, and so my tire would ram up into my wheel well. I grabbed a set of Timbren SES springs which are longer and also come with some height adjustment brackets, and they work great. I had my off-road shop actually articulate my truck with a forklift to ensure they stopped the compression at the proper spot. Not 100% sure if that directly answers your question, but just wanted to chime in with how I solved the problem you are mentioning.

That might be a good option which I might do anyway since my blocks now do not have ears either.

But after more measuring, I may end up just lowering the front a 1/2". My rear raptor take offs are riding right at 25.5"-26" which based on my research is right where they ride on the on the raptors. This also leaves me about 5.5" of max drop since they max out at 31". I need to do more research and see if taking them up to 26.5"-27" will take them too much outside of their valving zones and if I want to only have 4.5" of drop.

In case I accidentally made it sound otherwise, by blocks do have the ears, and the Timbren springs hit the ears to stop the compression.

That makes sense.

After more research, I see the raptors can get deavers with a 1" ride height increase, so if I go up 1" taller block I should be good. I doubt deaver would do that if it was going to cause issues with the raptor rear shocks. Since my rears are right where the raptors ride now, I should be fine going up 1". My installer has 3" rear blocks with ears so I will just go with that. Then the bump stops should be ok since it will only be an add a leaf difference which is fairly normal for the f150.
