Recommendations for 2003 Ford f150
New to the whole off road deal. Taking out a loan for my 2003 Ford f150 to get lifted, new tires, and wheels. Would love to be able to take the thing it off roading once in a while without a whole lot of worry. Prolly nothing to serious. More or less just some mudding. Looking for recommendations.

Definitely be weary of the CV axles out front. Turning too sharp while in 4low can cause them to separate. Trust me, I know. I am driving a 3wd until I can fix mine tomorrow! Aside from that, make sure to air down and you will be fine!

Good basics would be quality king, fox, or icon coilovers coupled with a set of upper control arms with stronger heim joints or icons delta joint over weak ball joints. Blocks or an add a leaf in the rear are the cheapest way to go if you decide you want to lift the rear too. 17" wheels from most every manufacturer should have the correct backspacing to keep your tires from rubbing on the inside too much, but trimming of the fender wells may be required depending on height of the lift and tire size.
