Where do you intend on going?
I live in Northern Canada which has one of the lowest population densities in the world. There are still too many people to "escape from" for me to hide out somewhere or live without conflict.
In the New World Order, don't expect to keep both your life and your dignity.

Since when is surrey northern canada or low population density? I live in the interior of BC and I was far enough up in the bush today that no one would ever find me. Get a couple of k's off the road and you're good.

Best investment in a vehicle for survival is a sailboat where all you need is wind for power. I had a very well modified 4WD vehicle and when returning from the deserts in the southwest I was heading up Hwy 1 and planning to refuel in Big Sur. Turned out some yahoo had hit a power pole and there was no electricity to run the gas pumps. I barely made it the additional 30 miles to Monterey to get gas.
The point is that during disasters the first thing to go is the electrical grid. During the past winter in Texas most of the state was without electricity and without natural gas, both due to operator negligence and a very lax and corrupt state government. The best survival vehicle would have been a hybrid sedan to drive out of the state and to civilization.
