Default oops

I see i never updated the thread on the cel. after getting the code read at autozone, i popped the hood, found the valve, and checked it out. looked for loose connections - there might have been one. when i pushed down on a wire, it might have clicked and reseated. for what it's worth, the cel cleared and never came back. now I'm getting ready to deal with the shifter. which might include selling this lemon.

Here's the current status since i bought a bone stock XLT short bed 2WD V6 manual reg cab: Gotts mod, Line-x the bed, pro install of a CB, WAAG grill guard and steps,
Goodyear Kevlar mudders, and a Leer cap. I carry a variety of recovery equipment and rations, etc. before the mechanical problems got to the current level, i was working on storage solutions for the bed and an efan. I'm going ahead with those while i work out the grand or so i'll need for the trans.
the truck isn't the only one having problems - much of the delay is because it turns out my body's kind of a lemon, too. oh well. sleeping in the dirt for a career was fun, but it seems the bill is coming due.
the kevlars are awesome. check me out on "what did you do with your truck today".

A buddy of mine has a pretty legit first gen cummins that he's building for a "bug-out vehicle." I'm thinking about doing a 4bt cummins swap into my stepside... just wish I had the time though.

I see peeps recommending Diesel but when the Zombies come I think Diesel fuel would be the hardest to find after awhile. Eventually you would have to rig up an electric mid-size truck...lol.

^^ diesel is easier to make if you know how, and it won't go stale as quickly as gas (correct me if I'm wrong)

true, but we'll probably be down to bikes and LPC's before any real recovery gets to the point of running refineries again... let alone shipping oil to them.

on the other hand, look at the bright side - permanent open season on greenies and democrats!

Wait...if the world was ending or whatever, money wouldn't really be anything. So...why work on a V6 10 year old F150 when you could just break into a dealership, steal something ridiculous, and add stuff that's ridiculous?

how are your going to "add stuff" if you don't already have it? Besides the point is to GET THE HELL OUT before **** goes bad. Not wait around till it's gets so bad that you could steal a truck from a dealership. By that point you will have wished you already left and everyone else is going to have the same idea you just did.

You want to be self sufficient before it goes south, not scramble to get your **** when you in the thick of it.
