Yes, and no. There are plenty of 70- and 75-series P-Metric all terrain tires.
We all know that more plies = a beefier sidewall; a more-durable tire in savage conditions. But for those who would hardly leave an improved but unpaved Forest Service road, a P-Metric will provide reliable service.

So you feel that because they fit, they'll work?
But as in your last post, if you don't really plan to abuse your tires, then you can run just about anything you want. For those of us who DO abuse (or plan to abuse) our tires, then "no way" to P-metrics ("P" stands for passenger. Plenty of off road tires come in metric sizes, but are C, D or E rated. I use LT305/70R17s. Metric, but not "P" rated. They're E rated (10 ply).
If a P-metric says "All Terrain" on the sidewall, then I suppose it's one of 2 things: (1) It's a sales gimmick. (2) "All Terrain" to them means "shopping malls", "driveways", "the highway", "uncle Fred's unpaved front yard", etc. All I can figure...
Here's why I would only use an LT tire:

My backup wheels/tires are gen 2 Raptor beadlocks with the OE BFG AT's 315/70/17 load range C. They may have a load C in an 18". I was surprised to find out that the Forged Raptor beadlock wheel and tires was only 4 lbs lighter than my 20x9 XD Series w/ 305/55/20 Toyo RT's that are load E

Hopefully you won't see too much mpg loss. I haven't seen much change with LT's...
