You sound like me but with more money hahaha. I originally wanted to upgrade my factory 18's for the factory 20" PVD's and 285/65 KO2's. Figured it cost too much, so I went with aftermarket 17's with 35" KO2's. Now I want to go back to my original idea with the 20" PVD's and do 35's. So much money to be spent!!!

Nitto Grappler 35x12.5018LT are $316
Nitto Grappler 35x12.5020LT are $330

So for $15 more, I can get less tire. Now the rims is a total different thing. I am looking at almost $150 more per rim for the 20's. So I guess I will stick with the 18's.
Yeah there are WAY too many aftermarket wheels to choose from out there, it can be pretty daunting.

Well, as long as you like what you are doing (without breaking the bank) I guess that is fine! I wanted to put 35X13.5020LT but I need a 4" lift and don't have the 1800 right now. Plus, I will use the truck for towing too, so do not want to mess to much with it! So I think with the 35x12.50 should be enough for me.

You got any pictures of your current setup?

Mine without the 2.5 lift kit

For sure. So staying at 18 will be better in the long run for towing, mpg, etc, right? I know that going to a 12 ply tire is heavier but won't affect as much as mud tires, for example...

I'm not an expert in anything towing, but I don't think the difference in 18's or 20's matters. In that, I mean if you have 35x12.5x18's or 35x12.5x20's, it shouldn't be any different. Your fuel economy will suffer some, just depends on how big and which tire you choose. My buddy has a '14 FX4 with the 5.0, 3.55's, and 35" Nitto Trail Grapplers. He gets 13-14 MPG. I have a '16 FX4 with the 5.0, 3.31's, and 35" BFG KO2's. I get 16-17 MPG. We both do the exact same style driving. Those Trail Grapplers, though the exact same size as my tire (I measured), are somewhere around 15lbs heavier each. That makes a huge difference.

I have a '13 Lariat 4x4 with the Ecoboost with 3.55's. I usually get 16-17 mpg so I know I will be seeing at least a 2mpg hit. But yeah! Them tires are heavies for sure!!

You sure you want Trail Grapplers? Is your truck a pavement queen or do you do a lot of off roading? I ask because my buddy with the 35" Trail Grapplers HATES them with a passion. They ride a little rough, they're a little loud, they kill his MPG, but worst of all from 1-5 MPH or so, the truck vibrates from the tires. It's starting to cause rattles in his cab, it's really irritating. My 35" BFG's are as smooth as stock.

I am looking at the Ridge Grapplers. The foot print is way different than the trail and, from what I have read, they are quieter than the rest. Originally, I wanted the BFG but the price is way up there though!! So now you got me thinking

I have heard great things from the Ridge Grapplers! The BFG's are pricey, but you get what you pay for.

I am doing some more research on them and trying to look for videos. A lot of jeep guys use them and they say that they are super quiet. So yeah! I am currently reading the thread Martian created about them tires. Would like to see videos. That is next.
