Default Mojave Road!!

Has anyone had any experience on the mojave road? I want to do it later this spring. I have a few questions to ask if anyone has an anwser. Can I do it in a 2wd f150 with a LSDiff? I will have a 4wd buddy come with me, but I would really like to be able to take the truck. Whats the best time to run it? How long does it take? Thanks in advance

Says it's 140 miles long, takes 2-3 days under 'optimal' conditions, and 4wd is needed for all but a few sections.

This guy says his group made it through with 2wd vehicles.
Hit me up before you do it. It looks pretty neat, and I'd like to do it as well.

I am going to plan a trip for late march or early april. I need a 4x4 to go with me and my friends. Since none of us have a real 4x4 we were thinking about using an audi q7 quattro or a new explorer AWD. Ill pm you if we decide to go, and maybe you can come with us so I dont have to rely on a crossover to pull me out of the sand.

You and I are gonna hit it when you get back.
If it's too hot, we'll just drive at night, and shoot and blow up **** during the day.

Click on the second link I posted. You'll find hundreds of pics that guy has taken during his multiple trips across the road.
FWIW, they took a stock 4-runner, Cherokee, and maybe a Pathfinder, some of which were even 2wd.
I don't see you having any problems with stock tires on an FX4.
...you damn dirty ape...

2wd is fine if you know how to drive it. I would want a 4x and tow strap in the caravan just in case though.
