But If I buy something aftermarket it should be for 17+ raptor?

So if I go this route, it would give me the same track width as a raptor? What type of lift could I expect? For wheel and tire setup reasons.

Am I missing anything?
The stuff in your quote of me was Raptor stuff, I purposely left off coilovers & shocks because that’s a personal choice - takeoff vs aftermarket, brand, etc.

Raptor tie rods and UCAs - Typically you can get this stuff in a package so it wouldn’t hurt to run them until you decide which aftermarket gear to buy. Honestly, plenty of guys put a lot of hard miles on them so I don’t necessarily see them as weak. There have been cases of failure but under pretty extreme abuse, like 6’ of air or running into a boulder.

Gen 1 stuff should be compatible but you can’t mix and match. All Rap or none.

Gen 2 - the coil bucket is physically higher on the frame than non Raptors so using Gen 2 3.0s coilovers on anything but a Gen 2 is a non starter. Guys have already put Gen 2 rear shocks on a Gen 1 Raptor - that means they will fit non Raptors as well.

A Gen 1 with a UNI UCA will have just about the same travel upfront as a stock Gen 2 (less than .5” difference) so I wouldn’t get hung up on Gen 2 stuff. Aftermarket is better anyway.

This type of hybrid build is pretty commonplace, just tell the shock company what you are doing and they can spec the right coilovers/shocks.

Yea, I remember you writing that somewhere. I guess I just got mixed up since I was comparing it to my stock strut off my F150, I saw it as an OEM coilovers as an upgrade of my stock.

So since the gen 2 3.0 coilover is not compatible with f150's, it seems it would be more cost effective to go gen 1 other than what I decide to go aftermarket. What if I went gen 1 in the front and gen 2 in the rear? Or is that a no go?

I'm trying to upgrade my f150's stock suspension while not going overboard. I just want to fully understand what I need or need to look for before I start looking for takeoff's and other than this thread, haven't found much other than just buying a full on aftermarket kit.

Gen 2 rear, from what I've read and seen, shouldn't be an issue. The desire for G2 stuff is pretty high so I don't know what one would want as far as take off prices. You might be able to get a set of rebuilt G1 aftermarket 3.0s with resi's cheaper depending on brand, etc. Lots of guys are starting to change up their parts and I've seen plenty of G1 3.0s up for sale. It's worth digging a little anyway.

Or we can get you our Prerunner kit!

Direct bolt on and works with the 1st Gen Raptor as well!

Uniball set up with an option to run a secondary bypass.

Greetings:

I have a 2014 F150 4x4 with 2.0 FOX coil overs and 17 inch aftermarket rims.

can I install the long travel kit without getting new FOX coil overs and rims. likewise, I do not want to change my fenders to the wider fiberglass ones.

Unfortunately, your current shocks will not work.

We designed our F150 Prerunner kit around the 1st Gen Raptor Coilover.

So you can use any ones 1st Gen 3.0 or you can use the Fox 2.5 that came on the Raptor.

F150 and Gen 2 Raptor shocks will not work with this kit.

As for not running glass, it is recommended that if you are running a 35" or larger tire, to run glass for clearance. However, I do have customers running 35" tires with stock glass.

You do have to be careful because at full compression, the tires will bump into the fenders.

As for the wheels, what is the offset and backspacing? This kit has a max backspacing of 4.75"

Here are some pictures of my customers trucks with our Prerunner kit, 35" tires and stock glass.

This is a really helpful thread, it addressed some of my concerns about raptor suspension swap into 04-08 f150.
Now that I have some info and ideas, what would be the most ideal approach to built a 06 2wd midtravel daily driver ? Now this is only concerning front suspension at the moment. I have in mind a camburg 7.0 kit... but i have a second option which would be a pair of used raptor oem lca and aftermarket uniball raptor uca , with used raptor oem front shocks. If i were to go with the raptor setup I would eventually try to get some 3.5" lift spindles from dirt king (04-08 2wd) and then upgrade the raptor shocks to some raptor aftermarket coilovers to achieve the most performance as possible. Question is would my plan actually work if I were to go with raptor suspension with dirt king spindles (04-08 2wd) and raptor aftermarket coilovers? And would it be superior to the camburg 7.0?
