in the sand you want to always keep a steady motion and if you start slowin down and you start sinkin, its time to stop while your ahead. sometimes you can put it in reverse and get out in reverse or rock yourself out. the biggest tip though is airrin down. lol

Manual 4wd system, 3.73's, open rear diff

17" factory wheels A/T tires, can't remember what brand at this time though...

Basicly what i'm asking is, how hard can i push it before i'm at risk of breaking parts or getting stuck?
Soooo...I took mine out today for a small 45 mile romp through the Mts. The road was cake 10 miles into it...the next 25 or so were a road turned into a muddy wash, pretty good vertical climbs with good trashed uneven and wet terrain. There were only two times where I felt it necessary to go to 4L. My baby did great...if it were actively raining or flooded out...I would have had issues I think...but other than that. Kick ***.

You just gotta go for it..if you get stuck or break something...take good pics and learn from your mistakes....

Just go out and have fun-there's only one way to discover your trucks (and your) limits. Just go w/ another truck and bring recovery gear. You'll get stuck long before you break something (unless you do something stupid-always walk through water before you drive through it so you know how deep it is and walk up a hill before you drive over it so you know what's on the other side). Just like the others are saying, the main limits would probably be the trucks open diff and AT tires. ATs clog w/ mud very easily. Besides that, it just seems like these trucks would be really easy to high-center.

In the soft sand, you have to stay in motion. I have stopped and then started out again, but you have to do slowly or you will bury yourself. Take some one with you so that you will have some one to pull you out. It's tiresome to pull yourself out. I don't have a winch, so if I get stuck I have to rig the come along. That is a real PIA. When I'm up in the woods I carry a chain saw in addition to all the 4X4 stuff like tow straps, come alongs, Hi-Jack, and other stuff. In the woods, sometimes after a storm trees fall across your exit path and you have to cut your way out. I live on the Oregon Coast, just so you know. - b
