Default Light trails near gatlinburg

Hey everyone. The family and I are heading to Gatlinburg in a couple weeks. I am looking for very light dirt/gravel/small rock trails. Nothing crazy. My truck is basically stock 4x4 with locking diff. I have found two but both roads close November 1st. Anyone have others they know about?

I have been wondering this as well. My wife and I are going to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg on December 1st. I found a place called Windrock Park in Oliver Springs, Tn. Our trip will take us all over Tennessee so this may be an option for us. I don't know much about it and I haven't contacted them yet, but I am interested in light offroading too.

I saw Windrock today. A friend of mine said he took his truck down there. Said it was pretty good. I am not looking for a whole day, more just an hour to take in the mountains away from a bunch of other people. My son likes to get off the beaten path like I do.

I found some fire roads and primitive roads, but it looks like they are all closed November 1st for the winter.

I'm like you too. I would like a trail to just ride and not have to worry about climbing rocks and going through mud holes. Just something to enjoy some scenery. I'm also not looking for an all day affair.

Did you ever call Windrock to see if they had something like what you are looking for? If you find something, post up and show us some offroad pics.

I did not. It is just a little far for me to just need about an hour or so of light trail riding. They are calling for snow Saturday night now, so it is prolly best I stay on the main roads. If that forecast changes, I’ll prolly just stop in a ranger station and speak with them to see what’s available.
