I have found that if you have to drive off of a paved road or hike more than a mile to get somewhere, you will encounter less people. If you combine the two you will hardly see anyone and that is just how I like it. I just saw one Jeep and the two people who had driven up there in it. If I had gone to the paved lots on the other side of the mountain, there would have been dozens of people and cars.

Thanks DDM for the great pictures of that part of Nevada. I feel the same way; I like to trek the path less travelled too (but improved forest service unpaved roads rather than rock-crawl. I want a crawler for that, and my F150 isn't it. The F150 is, however, a great dual-purpose, comfortable mode of transportation).

I did see a few game animals and a wild horse close up.

Same here. I have a small rural property up near Live Oak, FL. This is the "main road" there. That's about how many people you see as well. At night, nothing but the sounds of cows moo'ing in the distance. I try to get up there as much as I can.

Nice truck and beautiful area. That is one area of the country I haven't spent much time, but it looks like there would be some amazing places to explore.

Thanks, appreciated. Yep, except for mountains of course, Florida has some pretty varied terrain to explore, from beaches to forests to natural springs.
