schmeal

Did some wheeling this weekend with a buddy. This is Toll Road coming from Virginia City down to Reno.

What great country! Thanks for that pic, schmeal. Please, how often was it necessary to engage 4WD? I ask, because I wish to travel in similar country but have only 2WD... thanks.

Here's a few more from the Yokohama Climb the Falls event I went to. Finally got around to downloading all of them that I was sent. Lol. This shows a little better how much of a drop and rise I took the truck through, and shows the stuff we did after we ditched the trucks and jumped in with the Jeep guys and gals.

Those gladiators on the jeep are pretty blocky. I don't think k I have ever seen someone use them off road.

They're a pretty serious tire, I'm sure they're very heavy. He swore by them though, online they're listed as 10 ply and they say they've got 2 steel belt layers and 2 nylon belt layers in the tread area. From their website:

Tire Construction Advantages:
• The tire casing has three full plys of polyester with a high turn up on the side wall.
• This gives the tire excellent strength and durability.
• The tread area has two full steel belts and two full nylon belts.
• The result is a very stable tread and shoulder area for aggressive and proven performance.
• The end result is a tire that is strong, stable, durable and surprisingly quiet.
• M&S Rated

I spent all day in 2WD during that run. Dry desert with lots of traction.
