Hi-Lift X-TREME Jack Safe Working Loads
I bought a 60" Hi-Lift X-TREME Jack and various accessories and found the enclosed literature to be ambiguous about their safe working load limits. So I called Hi-Lift, was transferred to "Jason", and am sharing his answers.
SAFE WORKING LOADS OF 60" Hi-Lift X-TREME Jack
Lifting, 0-48" = 4,660#
Lifting, 48-60" = 2,660#
Winching, 0-60" = 5,000#
Clamping, 0-60" = 5,000#
NOTES:
o The inches listed above refer to how far the moving "lifting nose" is from the base of the jack.
o The shear bolt will shear at 7,000#
SAFE WORKING LOADS OF HI-LIFT ACCESSORIES
Bumper Lift = 3,000#
Lift-Mate = 5,000#
Winch jack attachment = 5,000# (part of offroad kit)
Winch tensioner = 5,000# (part of offroad kit)
2" nylon tree strap = 5,000# (part of offroad kit)

Funny. Hi-lift and safe in the same sentence.
Hi-lifts are great tools but they are one of the most dangerous tools too.
NEVER: get under a rig lifted with a Hi-lift or get your head above the handle.
