But what did it take (time/labor/materials) to make that jig? That cost is amortized over the 100 copies. It's also referred to as intellectual property, which has real value. Paying someone less for a copy of someone else's R&D is essentially stealing.

Very true, but at ~500 bucks, it makes you wonder what the markup is on the original when someone can reproduce for 1/3 of the price.

Honestly it is what it is. Everyone know big name companies are rip offs when it comes to armored bumpers or any product which is ridiculous. It's not like they honestly make the bumper by hand like you did STINGRAY. I'm sure machines do all the work and I have seen a couple of guys buy this product off eBay and be happy with the outcome of the product. I'll take my chances with the cheaper brand since it's the exact same. It's not stealing to me since I'm just a customer and that's why you have eBay and PayPal to protect you from products you think are a scam .
