Default Gears or no Gears?

I have a 2001 4X4 screw with the 5.7 and a 4 inch Procomp lift. I have 295/70/17 tires that measure 31.5 inches from top to bottom. Would these be considered "31's"? if so would the 4.10 or would the 4.56 gears work better for me? It is not a daily driver but I use it to tow 2 large 3 seater Jetskis around Texas and although Texas is fairly flat the lift and tire change has killed my power and fuel milage. With that being said I am mainly looking to get my power and fuel milage back to normal while towing. I have dual exaust, cold air intake and considering a programmer as well. Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

They don't make a 5.7. Its a 5.4 and no you dont need them. I had 38s with 4.56s. My 95 has 33s amd 3.55 and its fine

Haha, I dont know why I keep saying 5.7? Im going to go with just to see who is paying attention. . When going to these taller 295/70/17 tires I noticed quite a difference when towing. OD is basically useless. Tires are approxamatly 2.5 inches taller. I would think some gear change is nessessary just not sure if 4.10 or 4.56 would be better.

You shouldn't notice a difference in a 31" tire.. You'd start to notice around 34-35"...

I have 4.56 gears in my truck it is great for getting around off road, but when I am on the highway it doesn't get very good gas mileage I would go with 4.10 if you want to re gear
