Default Gear ratio

Whats the best gear ratio for a 2014 f150 supercharged 5.0
to run with 46 inch mickey Thompson baja claws? Wanting it for daily driving more than off road but still want to be able to pull if need be.

Mathematically you'd want 5.13's. Now from a practical standpoint, none of the drivetrain is going to survive those very long. The wheel bearings (especially the fronts), ball joints and axle shafts are going to have a short, unhappy life. The brakes will also be hugely insufficient. Just to clear the tires you're going to need a10 - 12" lift and custom front and rear driveshafts. If you have a printing press that makes REALLY good $100's then maybe this is a feasible project. Otherwise put the money in a Roth IRA and leave the truck alone.

How do you plan on fitting 46" tires? As Perry said, that's a whole lot more than the stock axles will take.

But I would say to go with as low of a gear as you can get. Not sure what that is for the 9.75 & 8.8HP. 5.13s on 46s would be about the same as 3.55s on stock 32s, If you want your drivetrain to last at all, plan on swapping axles. A Superduty 10.5" rear and newer model SD HP 60 front with the bigger ujoints (often refered to as the "super 60") should be fine for no offroad use. You can get 5.38s for them, which would be about equivalent to 3.73s on stock 32s.

Here's a link to a great gear ratio calculator..

5.38 would be the better option.

A daily driver with 46" tires? Yikes.

Most people with tires that size just use an F550 or larger chassis and running gear then find a way to mount an F150 body on it.
