Question Ecoboost swap

I'm new to the forum so please bear with me. I'm looking into a potential engine swap and at this point I'm just gathering info. I would like to use an Ecoboost engine, transmission, and maybe the transfer case into an older vehicle. Fabrication and wiring do not in the least bit worry me. My concern is about getting the engine and transmission to work without some of the auxiliary stuff such as the door modules, PATS, instrument cluster, etc. I would love to see more cool engine swaps, not just throwing in a LS into everything. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Last year I saw a show on the Discovery Channel, and they custom refurbbed a 50s-60s Ford pickup and put a 3.5 EcoBoost into it. Very impressive results.

Not sure if it was Fast N' Loud or what. Might be on youtube (?)

Ford sells what they call and "Engine Control Pack" which includes everything required to run a crate engine. This does not include the transmission however. From the description they are intended to be used with a manual trans.

I was wanting to run an automatic. I can't believe I actually just typed that, it will be the first automatic vehicle for me personally. I was thinking about buying a salvage F-150 ecoboost and using just the drivetrain. I did not know if there is a company that can reprogram the factory computer to delete the other programs, our that offers a engine and transmission controller that will work.

You should be able to take it down to XL-level features with ForSCAN, but going beyond that you'll probably be in uncharted waters. Most of the control modules at the XL level are drivetrain-related, and you may be able to unplug extraneous stuff (e.g. window motors) from the BCM as long as it's not getting input asking it to use those extraneous things.
