Default Anyone has installed an Original Ford Elocker or Swap the axle for a locking one ?

Hi guys,

i know you can install an Eaton one, but I would like to know if someone has already swap their non locking rear axle for a locking one and made all the connection /switch ? And if it works directly or there is a control board of some sort ?

i have a spare axle 3.31 locking which i got from a junk yard, and wants to know how difficult it is to swap my 3.31 non locking it and have the Elocker on
i would like to have the original Ford switch button etc

Ford doesn't make the Elocker; Eaton does. Ford's axle plant (probably Sterling) buys Elockers & installs them before shipping the axles to the Ford assembly lines. You could buy one & have it installed, the same way; or install a used axle. Then you could add any necessary wiring & controls; either buy building them, or by swapping JY parts into your truck. To see what's involved, look up the wiring diagrams here (you don't have to use a real e-mail):

thanks actually one question ! Won’t the harness on the F150 be the same for locking or non locking axle ? Do Ford use two different one or a single one ? If a single one, it could be straight forward to swap the axle and connect the elocker

Some harness sections include optional wiring (meaning the same section in all vehicles); some don't (meaning there are different harnesses for some options). It varies by year, model, & option. You'll have to research about that one. This shows about half the sections for one of my trucks:

I think every one of its sections either has a low-trim version, or is deleted for low-trim trucks. IOW: not one of those sections would be found on a low-trim truck of the same year & model.
