Default 4 wheel drive issue, need some insight!

A while back I posted about my 4WD on my 2007 fx4 making a loud clanking and slipping when under load. I switched out the IWE solenoid for the new style with the hood and even found a broken hose that I repaired. I went to test it out this morning on some gravel and some mud and it isn't making the loud clunking noise from before but it's still not engaging properly. Could there be another leak/break in the vacuum hose or could it be my actual wheel hub not meshing together properly?

need to check your iwe actuator , raise one wheel off the ground 1 at a time ,try to spin the wheel without the engine running and should be lock. if you can spin that wheel, actuator is broken . you can also try it with engine running and in two wheel drive, it should be free wheeling. if its lock you got a vacuum leak . good luck

vacuum is used to disengage 4x4 on f150's. if you have a bad leak you will be stuck in 4x4. try disconnecting the vacuum lines and see if there engaging fully

Nobody's ever mentioned this to my knowledge, but it IS possible to get a leak in the actuator diaphragm. That might cause it not to engage completely.

Any thoughts?

you can check the diagram with a hand vacuum pump , attach it directly to it , if it won't hold pressure that1 is broken .

Well, I just found out I broke a front axle; or at least something on the left front is broken. I can turn the wheel and the outer cv boot turns with the wheel (engine off-no vacuum) but the axle shaft does not turn!

Into the dealer tomorrow to see if they messed up installing the IWEs or if something broke when wheeling in Death Valley last month. I'll let y'all know after tomorrow...
