4" or 6" RCX already, wanting more lift, add Bilsteins 5100's to do the job?
New member to this Forum but long time Ford user. I just bought a new/used 2012 fx4 and already put on a Rough Country 4in lift with 35x12.5 toyo tires/Gear Alloy 20x10 big blocks. Like always I wondered "should I have gotten the 6in", what could I do to increase the lift I already have just a little more to say 5-6in (safely) w/o buying a whole other lift. I searched around and read a lot on the forums asked a few people but never was really able to get a straight enough answer for my thought in mind. thought: (I was told by my brother who has a 2011 fx4 with the Bilstein's 5100 adjustable leveling shocks that I might be able to put those on my truck to achieve the desired lift without breaking the bank or purchasing another lift kit while it could also improve some ride quality.)
IS THIS POSSIBLE? has anyone done this? I also know Bilstein's has a 5165 series shock specially for lifted trucks and wondered the same about them but those are adjustable to my knowledge. All thoughts and help are appreciated.

Does your 4" kit use a now strut or did it come with a 4" strut extension for the top.
If it uses the spacer you could use any 4-6" coilover or 0-2" lift strut. For the rear you could add an add a leaf or buy a new rear block and u bolts. That's all that is needed.
Most if not all 4 and 6" kits use the same front drop cross members to acheive the within spec geometry.

It came with the strut spacers, i was just looking at the bilsteins mainly because they were adjustable so if i ever decided to go back or something, but I guess if I understand that correctly all I would need is a bigger coilover or sturt for the front w/ a block/AAL in the back, right?
for the FRONT:Lifted knuckles, Strut spacers, Front crossmember, Rear crossmember, Sway-bar drop brackets, Differential drop brackets, Brake line brackets, Driveshaft space, REAR: 2" lift blocks, Brake line relocation brackets, U-bolts, Rear Performance 2.2 series shocks

I also have a RCX 4 inch lift on my 2014. I replaced the stock struts with the F150 lifts Boss coil overs set for 2.25 inch lift, giving me just over 6 inches of lift. I contacted Rough Country and purchased the rear block kit for the 6 inch lift and it sits perfect. I am really impressed with the ride with the Boss coilovers and I have no problems with this set up.

thats sweet, that is all i need to do thanks for the advice. Do you remember how much it was for the coilovers and rear block? the 6 inch lift uses a 5 inch rear block right?
