Default 35x12.5x17 on 03 4x4 with factory wheels?

Its an 03 F150 XLT 4X4 with factory alloy 17inch wheels. A friend has some 35's that will fit the wheel but I am concerned about clearance.

Will these fit without a lift kit of some kind? Do I need to trim the valance?

I currently have 265-70-17's on it, will the change effect my speedometer?

Thanks for helping a newbie out!

yes it will rub, the fix is a leveling kit (Most people say they can clear 35 with a 2.5" but when you look at the adds for the kits it says can clear 33)

Your speedometer will be off. You will need to have someone reprogram for the different size tire.

Will they clear enough to drive the truck on-road until I can get the leveling kit?

On your '03 you have torsion bars that can be cranked up to level the front. I'd try a 295x70x17 Nitto all terrain or a 295x70x17 Toyo Mud terrain on the stock wheels and truck will look great! Torsion bars are like a free leveling kit.

from what i've heard though, cranking up the torsion bars adds a lot of stress on the vehicle, im not 100 percent or anything but thats just something i heard

hey guys im new to the site but ill throw my .02 cents in. I have a 98 F150 and i just cranked the torsion bars on it. So far, 0 problems and it doesn't change the ride quality (very little difference). Plus, its FREE! don't spend the money on the leveling kit, all it does is allow you to crank it up too far and the preload on the CV and ball joints and everything will cause premature wear for sure. Cranking the factory torsion bars will do the trick, it only took like 1.5 inches to level mine out! Good luck man! Oh and i am putting 305-70-17 Nitto Terra Grapplers on there, which is almost a 34! Like 33.8 or so
